Thank you to the many parents who nominated or self-nominated to serve on the 2012-2013 Parents' Council. We are thrilled to have so many eager and capable nominees. Now begins the work of the Nominating Committee. It is a large puzzle of many faces that we work hard to piece together. The process involves review by committee and approval by various levels of school administration and the PC Executive Committee. We then work hard to place the nominees in available positions. Sometimes, due to large numbers, we will do some shifting in order to try to maximize volunteers. Unfortunately, we are not always able to place every nominee (some positions have up to eight nominees).
If you are not asked to serve, please don’t be discouraged. Parents’ Council needs many leaders and many more committee volunteers in order for it to work effectively. The more parents who are involved both as leaders and committee volunteers, the better it is for our community. A thriving parent community needs many talented individuals, serving in many different capacities, both large and small. In the end, it is the work of all of the parents that benefits our girls the most. That said, we will begin making calls before spring break, but most phone calls will be made following the break. The final slate will be presented for approval at the final Parents’ Council meeting on May 3. In the meantime, enjoy your spring break with your family.
