Welcome to the Arts at AIS
Opportunities in the arts at Agnes Irwin are just as unique and diverse as the girls themselves. Whether she’s a musician, a dancer, an actress, a singer, an artist, a photographer, or a combination of all of these attributes, every student can find a venue for her talents at Agnes Irwin.

Girls participate in concerts, dramatic productions, art exhibits, photography shows, and much more — increasing their interest as both creators and patrons of the arts. One highlight of the winter is Dance Motion, a recital highlighting talented dancers in an array of styles from ballet to tap to hip hop. The AIS Repertory Company puts on several productions a year, under the direction of faculty and theatre professionals. Students act, sing, design and decorate sets, and work lighting/sound boards. The Bel Cantos, our a cappella vocal ensemble, perform locally and regionally and have appeared on TV, radio and in the newspapers. Our state-of-the-art Arts & Science Center, which houses the 300+ seat West-Wike-Theatre, offers a beautiful setting for students to refine their passions.

From painting and music appreciation in the Lower School to the Middle School’s study of contemporary art and opera composition to media arts and advanced photography coursework in the Upper School, there’s no end to the possibilities.

The visual, musical and dramatic arts inspire our girls to explore, discover and create something new. They learn to move beyond their boundaries and employ their imaginations, senses and dreams to make a statement that is uniquely their own.
