We teach a rigorous yet nurturing mathematics program where students are encouraged to think critically and analytically in both classroom discussions and written work. We teach mathematics the way girls need to learn, exposing students to a variety of teaching methods and problem-solving strategies that include the use of technology. Both our teaching and assessments are conducted in a way that celebrates success and encourages improvement. As a result, virtually all students take four years of Upper School math with more than half taking a calculus course. Each year, a visiting engineer presents a hands-on program showing how math can be used in the professional world. Alumnae also visit classes to share with current students how they have used math in college and careers.
