Moving On Up
Seventh-graders make the literal and figurative move from the lower floors to the upper floors of their school building. Along with this transition, they begin interscholastic sports, are introduced to Latin, and take a formal public speaking course. Students are also immersed in the history and art of the Renaissance. For one popular project, the girls study the masters of painting and their masterpieces, then present an oral presentation to their peers. They also try their hand at traditional art by copying a painting for the school "museum."
