Rites of Passage
One of our most memorable Middle School moments is the seventh and eighth grade musical, a full-length performance for which students rehearse, make costumes and decorate scenery. Recent performances have included Into the Woods, Once On This Island, You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Honk, Jr., and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The Civil Rights project unites the English and history curriculum. Students research and write about a leader from the Civil Rights movement as well as create poetry in response to Martin Luther King, Jr.'s speeches and Harlem Renaissance poetry.
