Author Devy Rose Bruch visits AIS |
The newly established Alumnae Lunch Series drew in a crowd of seniors on Monday, March 5 when special guest and author Devy Rose Bruch ’55 shared her remarkable life story.
In 1937, as an infant, Bruch was stolen from her mother by the infamous baby trafficker Georgia Tann, bundled up and sold to a wealthy couple from Pennsylvania. It was not until 2009 that she learned the truth of her origins. Through investigative research, she discovered two sisters. Bruch credits The Agnes Irwin School with giving her many of the tools needed to manage a difficult and adventurous life. You can read more about Bruch in her memoir, No Mama, I Didn’t Die: My Life As a Stolen Baby.
