Dear Agnes Irwin Families,
Websites have become a choice communication tool in today’s world of fast-paced message exchange, allowing organizations, businesses, agencies, governments and even schools to deliver more information at a quicker pace than ever before. These dynamic environments are ever-changing in terms of functionality and capability, presenting users with opportunities to regularly adjust their form.
Tomorrow, you will notice a new look to the homepage of the Agnes Irwin website, as well as some of its internal pages. These changes allow for a greater range of information to be presented in one place, and will feature more spots for highlighting key events and programs.
New to the homepage is a tab for Agnes Irwin Today, a short film that captures the essence of the Agnes Irwin experience. There is also a “Wall” for posting important messages about school life and activities, and a spotlight for a “Photo of the Week.” The Top Story remains to report on the latest news about Agnes Irwin students, faculty and staff, and the school in general.
From the homepage, you will be able to directly link to pages devoted to special happenings such as Parents’ Council pursuits like Winterfest and May Fair, the Capital Improvements Project, Online Giving and more. In addition, the main navigation bar now has drop-down menus for speedy access to all sections, not simply Quicklinks.
We have moved to a homepage design that allows us to feature a rotation of photographs that capture the life and energy of The Agnes Irwin School – from the classroom to the basketball court, from the hallways to the stage of the West-Wike Theatre. So keep watching for new photos periodically!
The site now has vCal and iCal features that will enable you to sync the school calendar with your PDAs and other devices, and a reconfigured Media Gallery will feature Podcasts and videos as we come across great material to present. You will also be able to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and SmugMug. Look for more information in this week’s e-newsletters. And we have appropriately acknowledged that The Dream Flag Project TM began here at Agnes Irwin.
The ongoing website work will focus on keeping the content current and compelling, so you will see additional changes in that area over time as well.
Thank you for your support and recommendations as we continually work to fine-tune our communication practices. We hope you enjoy the new look and feel of the Agnes Irwin website, and as always, we welcome your comments.
Warmest regards,
Mary F. Seppala, Ed.D.
