Dear Parents, April hath put a spirit of youth in everything. ~William Shakespeare
I know it’s Spring when I can smell the salt marsh while driving to the beach. That pungent smell speaks of warm winds, rain, and tadpoles soon to be belching bullfrogs. The stars are out, and you can hear peepers in the trees.
I also know it’s Spring when students are bursting at the seams to be outside, to sleep late, or to travel somewhere warm. Suddenly, tests and papers are just a small annoyance, not the end of the world. After all, Thursday at 3:00 P.M. means a change of pace, if not freedom.
When we return from break, it will be April. Just as Shakespeare says the “spirit of youth” will be in everything, the craziness of transitioning to the end of the year will bring choral concerts, outdoor field trips, Sophomore Day, college acceptances, exams, and then senior seminars, SSP, and C21. Busy? Yes, very. Fun? Absolutely.
So, whether you are traveling to warmer climes or simply taking a nap in your garden hammock, rest up over the break to be ready for the race to the end –
