Dear Parents,
Normally, I would use this space to share my thoughts regarding whatever was on my mind this week. One hears about life in the Lower School, or my own “reminders to self” that I think might in some way be helpful to others. This week, however, what keeps running through my mind are many upcoming events that I want to be sure you know about, because they are important and meaningful community events and I don’t want you to miss out on attending. So in that spirit, please get out your calendar and mark these special and important happenings that are coming up this month:
· April 11, 9:00-10:30 A.M., Lower School Dining Room: Parents of second grade students are invited to a poetry café , where you will spend some time visiting with your daughters and hearing the Dream Flag poems they have created. Beatnicks are invited to pull out the black turtlenecks and wear their favorite berets! You should have received a letter yesterday reminding you of this visiting opportunity; it is included as a download in this week’s newsletter.
· April 11, 7:00-8:30 P.M., Middle/Upper School Assembly Room: District Attorney Risa Ferman and ADA Kevin Steele will be presenting in the second of our three presentations on Internet Safety in the Lower School years. If you have not done so already, please let us know of your intention to attend by contacting Carol Hillman at x1617 or chillman@agnesirwin.org.
· April 26, 6:15-8:00 P.M., Middle/Upper School Assembly Room:
Parents of fourth grade students will want to attend the Middle School Orientation dinner and program. Lynne Myavec and fifth grade teachers will be in attendance, as well as current fifth grade parents. For more information please see the
download in this week’s newsletter.
· April 28, 8:30 A.M.-Noon, Lower School: The Lower School students will be participating in Dolly Gaul Day, our annual day of service named for a much loved former teacher in the Lower School. Parent volunteers are happily welcomed. If you would like to be a part of this wondrous day, please contact Sarah Kinder at
skinder@agnesirwin.org.
Thank you for all you do to make our community the special, living place that it is. Have a great weekend,
Donna
