Letter from Donna
Dear Parents,

I hope you will forgive the laundry list of reminders and announcements this week, but life is full and busy in the Lower School and I want to insure you have all the information you need:

Box Tops: Our first Box Tops competition ended today. The girls should continue bringing in box tops, as they will be counted toward the second competition beginning next week. Please remember to cut out the box tops on the dotted lines!  A few minutes of extra cutting saves our volunteers many hours.

Halloween Parade:  The Halloween Parade will be held on October 31, on the Lower School Field, with PumpkinFest being held immediately after. In the event of inclement weather, we will move into the MS/US gym.  The parade will begin immediately following our trip through the MS/US building, so I would suggest if you want to be present for the entire parade that you plan to be on campus by 1:30.  Parking directions will be forthcoming.

Parent Visiting Days:  Opportunities for parents or special guests to visit for a morning are already beginning with the fourth grade visiting day on November 2, from 8:20-10:45. Visiting Days for other grades will be scheduled after Winter Break.

Book Fair:  The book fair kicks off on Sunday, November 6. Make sure to check the link in this newsletter for your daughter’s scheduled class visit and Doughnuts with Dad days for each grade.

AIS/EA Day:  This annual competition will be held on the afternoon of November 11. Parents will have the opportunity to pick up their children early in order to see the competition at Episcopal Academy, and a shuttle will be made available to those who would prefer not to drive. Please make sure to click on the Athletics Newsletter link for more details.

Have a great weekend!

- Donna

The Admission Office needs your help!
Parents, please volunteer to help between 2 and 4 p.m. on Sun. 10/30 at the All-School Admission Open House. Lower School parent helpers are needed to greet and tour with visiting families that day. Training will be provided from 8:30-9:30 a.m. on Wed. 10/19. Please RSVP to Barbara Massaro or 610-523-7986.

Please invite interested family and friends to attend the Open Houses. Provide names, addresses or requests for invitations to the Admission Office. Thank you for all of your help!

Last call for Used Halloween Costumes!     Donate your outgrown Halloween costumes for a worthy cause!   We will be bringing the collection to a shelter for women and children in Philadelphia on the afternoon of Monday, October 24.  The collection box is located in the Owl Lobby.  The costumes do not have to be complete – we will gladly take whatever you have. The Upper School Service Board thanks you!

Please visit the AIS Parents page for current forms, news and notes.
