| This Week in PreKindergarten
What a great time we had at May Fair! The girls did such a nice job dancing. We loved hearing Julia announce the dance. Everyone had fun eating treats and playing games. We continued work on our animal unit. This week we made amate paintings of our animals. The girls finished researching and are now getting ready to record their animal information on an IMovie. Weren't the scratch art zoos delightful? The girls used toy animals as models for their drawings. On Tuesday, May 22 we'll have our end of the year party at the Philadelphia Zoo. Please plan to meet us at the main entrance no later than 10:00 AM. If you will be delayed, please take the time to call this number (484 684-2995) so we can make a plan as to where to meet you when you arrive. Families are welcome to use passes. You will need to purchase tickets if you do not have a pass. The Radnor Township Recreation office has discount tickets available. Plan to pay with a check or cash. We will visit some of the exhibits and see if we can find animals we have studied in class. Toward noon, we will have lunch in the picnic grove. You are welcome to bring a picnic lunch or purchase items at the zoo. After lunch we will visit a few more exhibits and then say good-bye. The girls understand that during our time together they will not be able to shop, buy food, get their face painted, or ride animals or other attractions. You are welcome to do all those things after we go our separate ways. You may wish to carpool with other parents. Cars may be left in the Agnes Irwin lot. This is an important culmination event for our animal study. Please let Mrs. Seaton know immediately if you will be unable to attend so that we can make arrangements for your daughter to participate. Field Day is scheduled for Tuesday, May 29. The girls should wear shorts, a t-shirt, socks and sneakers to school that day. This is an event for the girls. They will tell you all about the morning when they return home that afternoon. In math we learned about greater than and lesser than and the concept of equal. The girls are building a strong foundation of math skills for the years to come. As the days grow warmer, please remember that crocs and sandals are not the best footwear for the playground. The girls can play and move about freely and safely when they are wearing sneakers. If the day is particularly sunny, it might be a good idea to put on sun screen before your daughter comes to school. Several of you have asked about the themes for Camp Little Owl. Here is the schedule for this summer. June 18 Bugs and Butterflies; June 25 Circus Fun; July 2 All American Fourth of July; July 9 Way Out West; July 16 Beach Blast; and July 23 CLO Olympics. Lots of fun activities are being planned. You may wish to register soon as a couple of the weeks have only a couple of spaces available.
