Lower School "Extra" Session Winter 2012
January 23 - March 5
This must-do after-school program offers more than a dozen hour-long, constructive activities supervised by Agnes Irwin faculty and local instructors in a familiar environment. Don't miss the newest happenings in the Lower School. Join us for "Extra" fun!
 
• Each course is $155
• Program runs Mondays - Thursdays 
• Classes run from 3:30-4:30 p.m. (Drama will run until 5 p.m.)
• Enrollment form and payment are due by Monday, January 9th
• Monday, February 20th, the school is closed & there will be no sessions
• The last Monday session is March 5
 
Please note: The "Extra" Session car line ends at 4:45 p.m. Students who are not picked up will be sent to After Session and will be charged $10 for that day. 
 
To register, download and save the form to your personal computer, fill in the editable regions, save it with a unique name (e.g. your child's name), and email the completed form to Michelle Burns at mburns@agnesirwin.org.
 
 
Monday Sessions
Instructor: Carol Elia, Yoga 4 Kids
This high-energy fitness class will be a fun-filled hour of dance moves choreographed to music. The class will begin and end with a lengthy full-body stretch to both warm muscles and cool down. The dance moves will be repetitive, easy to follow and loads of fun. The routines will be set to hip hop, funk, jazz and the ever-popular sounds of Zumba! Children will learn the Salsa, Cumbia and Merengue, as well as the dance moves of their favorite teen stars.
• Grades 2-4    • Offered Mondays
Instructor: Donna Lindner, AIS Lower School Director
Knitting is a lifelong skill that encourages concentration, counting and small-motor movements that help support better writing and drawing! Knitting Club is for experienced knitters and new knitters who are keen to learn. Experienced knitters will learn new stitches and ways to correct mistakes, while receiving help with their projects. New knitters will learn how to cast on and off and how to knit in garter and stocking stitches. Everyone will attempt to complete a specific project.
• Grades 3-4    • Offered Mondays   • Supplies fee: $10 includes yarn & knitting needles

A great opportunity for budding cooks to try their hands at making some tasty snacks. Sessions will include cooking enhanced by related books and crafts. The delicious creations will include whoopie pies, hot cocoa mix and pudding ice cream cones.

Tuesday Sessions
Instructor: Melanie Slezak, AIS Kindergarten teacher
Travel the seven continents as we stamp our Passports in a different country every week. The girls will learn fun facts, enjoy folktales and make a craft for each culture.
