Dear Summer Session Families,
My name is Jodie Bross, and I am the new Director of Summer Session at The Agnes Irwin School. This past fall, I started teaching eighth and ninth grade English here, as well as developing this summer’s exciting offerings. While I am new to Agnes Irwin, I have been teaching English and drama for more than 10 years and was very involved in summer programming at Miss Porter’s School and Choate Rosemary Hall—two New England independent schools.
We are so happy that you chose our Summer Session program for your sons and/or daughters last year and hope you will consider us for another fun-filled session in 2012.
Your sons and daughters are invited to take a new approach to summer break with us and focus on what they really want to get out of their time away from school. Are they creators, builders, artists, mathematicians, writers, actors, athletes or all of the above? They have the opportunity to be whatever they may imagine and more during Summer Session with us!
This summer, the first week of our program (June 11 – June 15) will feature off-campus trips and half-day excursions as your sons and daughters transition into their break. During weeks two through seven (June 18 – July 27), we will offer a variety of exciting activities for all grade levels, as well as interactive course combos that link subjects in innovative ways, classes for credit, one-week specialty acting and music recording camps, and a fabulous PreK-K program called Camp Little Owl.
With us, your daughters and sons can explore new lessons in the classroom, board the bus for our weeklong New England College Tour or prepare for the SAT – all while having fun and making new friends with other motivated students in the area who have also chosen Agnes Irwin for their summer enrichment! If your son or daughter likes variety,
then we hope you will take advantage of our diverse activities, ranging
from creating comic strips to magic tricks. We understand that everyone is looking to do something different during the summer break! We are just as enthusiastic about helping your daughters and sons become physically fit in Fencing as we are about allowing them to grow academically with Writing Workshops.
So, as you find yourself caught up in the hectic holiday season and enduring the cold weather, we hope that you will take a moment to pause with us. Focus on summer: another summer at The Agnes Irwin School with its endless possibilities and its warm, welcoming teachers.
Please check out our Preview Video on YouTube and look to our Summer Session website for updates coming soon!
We hope to see you this summer!
