You may access an electronic version of the Phase IIA Construction Announcement Letter that was mailed on Feb. 16 to the Agnes Irwin community.
A New Information Source
Starting today, parents will receive periodic Construction Bulletins with important information about the Campus Improvements Project. These bulletins are designed to keep parents up to date with safety information, traffic restrictions, milestones in construction and the changing appearance of the campus.

The bulletins will be sent via email as well as posted on the website pages for the Campus Improvements Project and the Community eNewsletters.

Closed Parking on Ithan Avenue
Starting Monday, February 27, on-street parking will no longer be available on Ithan Avenue along the split-rail fence adjacent to the Upper School athletic fields. View construction logistics map. Students and visitors may park on campus in parking spaces designated for students and visitors.

On-street parking will remain available on Ithan Avenue along the Lower School field and on the side of the Upper School building until 3 p.m., when public school buses begin arriving for student pickup.

Preliminary Excavation Work
With Phase IIA construction, some controlled underground blasting will occur as part of excavation work. The blasting will take place near the tennis courts behind the existing Middle/Upper School gymnasium in March and April.

The blasting work will be carefully monitored and will follow all requirements and regulations as determined by state and local authorities. On a day that blasting takes place, the blasting will occur only a few times during the school day. As part of standard safety procedures, a whistle-warning sequence will be sounded before the start of each blast. The blasts will occur deep underground and should have minimal impact beyond the excavation area.

It is anticipated that the blasting work will take place over approximately four weeks in March and April as site conditions and weather dictate.
