These are just a few of the words our community of students, parents, alumnae, faculty and staff use to describe The Agnes Irwin School. But ask any one of them, and you’re sure to get many, many more.
We are an independent all-girls’ day school providing an outstanding educational experience for students in PreK through Grade 12. At AIS, each girl thrives, finding a distinct strength and confidence that comes not only from superior academics, athletics, arts and service programs, but also through inspiration from her teachers, coaches, peers…and even herself.
Located outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the School was founded in 1869 by Miss Agnes Irwin, the first Dean of Radcliffe College and the great-great granddaughter of Benjamin Franklin. We continue to enjoy a rich legacy of excellence in all-girls’ education, as each year harvests countless innovations and remarkable achievements that make Agnes Irwin a place where learning truly occurs everywhere.
But don’t take our word for it. We invite you to explore our site to learn more about our programs, our history, and - of course - our students.
