Application

You may complete the application online or download and submit a printable copy of our application, along with a current photo of your daughter and the application fee. The application consists of the Application Form and the Parent Questionnaire Form, which can be found under the Forms & Downloads tab.

Parent and Student Visits

The Parent Visit includes a tour of campus and a meeting with an Admission Director. You will have the opportunity to learn about our offerings, ask questions, and tell us more about your daughter.

Typically, scheduling your daughter’s visit takes place during the Parent Visit since families must submit an application prior to their daughter’s visit. Applicants to grades 1-4 will spend a full day visiting her current grade. Reading, writing, and math assessments will be performed. Students are asked to wear comfortable clothing and sneakers as they will be active (no jeans or t-shirts, please). Lunch and snack are provided.

Testing

Applicants to grades 1-4 will take either a WPPSI, an aptitude test for children under six years of age, or a WISC, an aptitude test for children six years of age and older. Both the WPPSI and the WISC are performed by an educational psychologist of the parents’ choice. The cost is covered by the family.

School Records

The Release of Records Form (see Forms & Downloads tab) authorizes your daughter’s school to release her records to Agnes Irwin. Please complete and sign this form and give it to your daughter’s current school. Her records will be sent directly to Agnes Irwin and are kept confidential.

Teacher Recommendation

Submit the Teacher Recommendation Form (see Forms & Downloads tab) to your daughter’s current school after November 1. The recommendation will be sent directly to Agnes Irwin, and its contents will be kept confidential. By signing the form, you accept the confidentiality agreement.

Notification

Completed applications are reviewed by the Admission Committee in January, and applicants are notified in January, 2018. Girls who are accepted must secure their place by returning a signed enrollment contract and deposit by March 1, 2018. Candidates in the waitpool will be considered when space becomes available.

Tuition Assistance

Agnes Irwin is committed to making its educational opportunities available to bright, motivated and talented girls regardless of their family's ability to pay. Applicants seeking tuition assistance must indicate their intention of applying for tuition assistance on the admission application. The New Family Guide to Tuition Assistance packet is usually sent in late November. All tuition assistance applications must be submitted by the deadline in order to receive full consideration for tuition assistance. Click here for more information about affording AIS.
