AIS Allied is a mentoring program open to all Agnes Irwin 9th-12th grade students. The program was created after a full year of research into best practices in mentoring programs, the developmental needs of adolescent girls, and focus groups with Agnes Irwin students. As a result, we have created a program that provides a dynamic opportunity for girls to discuss a range of topics, including school life, identity, career exploration, stress management, and more. AIS Allied's cohort structure is supported by adult women mentors or "Allies". These women share their lived experiences and help guide students through their conversations and activities during monthly meetings.
Girls who engage in this program reap a number of benefits. They are able to explore and develop a unique leadership identity through peer and near-peer mentoring, build strong relationships across grade levels and with women in the beginning stages of their own careers , and grow their self-awareness through exposure to different perspectives and experiences. Of the four Allies, three are Agnes Irwin alumnae.
