MORNING CAMPS

CAMP WALNUT MINI-SESSION – NEW! 
PreK–Grade 2  •  June 13–17 (Week 1)
9 a.m.–12 p.m.  •  $300
Campers will get the Walnut Street Theatre Camp experience in a shortened day. They will participate in two classes each day (character development, improvisation, makeup, dance, musical theatre) and create an original performance that they will perform at the end of the week. Campers will come away more confident in their theatre performance abilities.

CAMP LITTLE OWL
PreK–K  •  June 20–July 29 (Weeks 2–7)
9 a.m.–12 p.m.  •  $300/week
Camp Little Owl is an introductory program designed to offer four-year-olds and five-year-olds an exciting first experience at summer camp. Led by AIS PreK teacher Kathy Seaton, daily activities include songs, camp cheers, games, group time, snack, cooking, outdoor experiences, arts and crafts, and Water Wednesday. Each week will be organized around a special theme, chosen specifically to appeal to our PreK and Kindergarten campers! Housed in the Lower School, Camp Little Owl makes use of the PreK and Kindergarten classrooms, the PreK playground, and the comfort and safety of the school’s campus. Camp Little Owl welcomes boys and girls who will be four or five by August 31. Note: Campers may stay for a brown bag lunch from 12–12:30 p.m. each day. Snack is provided daily.



    

CAMP WISE OWL 
Grades 12  •  June 20–July 29 (Weeks 2–7)
9 a.m.–12 p.m.  •  $300/week
This three-hour program is designed and led by Melanie Slezak, AIS Kindergarten teacher, with incoming first graders and second graders in mind. This program will introduce a different country each week and explore music, arts and stories about that culture. The curriculum introduces some reading and writing as well as practice with some basic math skills appropriate for first graders and second graders. This program is a blend of imagination and hands-on work in a structured and caring environment. Snack is provided daily.


AFTERNOON CAMPS 

ENGINEERING FOR KIDS: 
JUNIOR ENGINEERS – NEW!
PreK–Grade 2  •  June 13–17 (Week 1)
12:30–3:30 p.m.  •  $300/week
This camp introduces our youngest engineers to various fields of engineering through fun, hands-on activities. Campers will make their own airplanes and rockets (aerospace), playdough and flub (chemical), ice cream (industrial) and more!


 

TAKE THE LEAD: 
DEVELOPING GIRLS THROUGH SPORTS, FITNESS, AND LEADERSHIP
Grades 2–5  •  June 13–17 (Week 1)
12:30 p.m.–3:30 p.m.   •   $300
When girls participate in sports-based development programs, they build skills that can be applied both on and off the field. Young leaders will be guided to take those skills and utilize them in a whole new way. While sampling a variety of sports, they will learn and develop leadership traits such as communication, team building, and confidence. Take the Lead will foster a healthy sense of competition and teamwork.

CREATING CRAFTS
PreK–Grade 2  •  June 20–July 29 (Weeks 2–7)
12:30–2 p.m.  •  $150/week
Calling all crafters! Campers will work with art materials ranging from paints and paper plates to pipe cleaners and Popsicle sticks! Creativity will be the primary focus of this class, but campers will also develop listening and organization skills as they produce interesting and age-appropriate craft masterpieces in a variety of media.

AIS SUMMER IN SPANISH: 
GAMES AND SONGS IN THE HISPANIC SUMMER – NEW! 
Grades 1–4  •  June 20–July 1 (Weeks 2–3)
12:30–3:30 p.m.  •  $300/week
Take a stroll through the world of the Spanish language this summer! For two weeks, students will learn Spanish through play — participating in various games and activities that will introduce and reinforce vocabulary, simple expressions and messages. Cultural and social aspects of the Spanish culture will also be included. This new language program, created and taught by AIS Spanish teacher Montserrat Nomdedeu, will allow students to communicate in Spanish while developing a love of the language and of learning.

Drama
PreK–Grade 2  •  June 20–July 29 (Weeks 2–7) 
12:30 –2 p.m.  •  $150/week
Is your camper ready to take the stage? In this course, campers experience the creativity of characters and the excitement of storytelling. Through theatre games and activities, campers learn to tell stories using their voices, bodies, and imagination. Theatre basics will be introduced and reinforced throughout the week. A final performance will cap off what is sure to be a fun and dramatic experience! 

The Great Outdoors – NEW! 
Grades 1–4  •  June 20–July 29 (Weeks 2–7)
12:302 p.m.  •  $150/week
Campers will head outdoors and investigate the world around them in this interactive course. We’ll explore all that outside has to offer through experiments, games, and other scientific lessons. Campers will get their hands dirty, feel the grass on their feet, and breathe in the fresh air of the great outdoors.

 

MOVERS & SHAKERS! – NEW!
Grades 1–4  •  June 20–July 29 (Weeks 2–7)

Get on your feet! Campers will move and shake through a combination of introductory movement warm-ups and games as well as work with literature and props to explore dance concepts.

CAMP CLASSICS

Get ready to play! This course is full of activity for the energetic camper! Join in favorite outdoor games like capture the flag, kickball, tag, and many more.

PAPER, PENCIL, PLAY! – NEW!

23:30 p.m.  •  $150/week
 
This course focuses on keeping young minds and hands sharp over the summer! Campers will have fun applying critical thinking skills, creative writing and reading strategies, and handwriting review through a variety of hands-on activities and games focused around daily literature themes.

CRAFTS, COOKS & BOOKS
PreK–Grade 2  •  June 20–July 29 (Weeks 2–7)
2–3:30 p.m.  •  $165/week
An AIS summer favorite! Crafts, Cooks & Books will connect children’s books with cooking and crafts. Campers will read and discuss a selected children’s book. As a group, they will incorporate hands-on cooking activities and crafts related to the theme of the book. This course allows campers to exercise both practical and creative skills in a fun, storybook setting!
