Avenues for expression
Opportunities in the arts at Agnes Irwin are as unique and diverse as the girls themselves. Whether she’s a musician, a dancer, an actress, a singer, an artist, a photographer, or a combination of all of these attributes, a student can find an avenue for her talents.
Students participate in concerts, dramatic productions, art exhibits, photography shows and much more. They act, sing, design and decorate sets, and work lighting/sound boards. They photograph nature and school life, create life-size sculpture and paint dramatic self-portraits. The Bel Cantos, our audition-selected a cappella vocal ensemble, perform locally and regionally. Our 300-seat West-Wike-Theatre offers a beautiful setting for students to refine their passions.
From painting and music appreciation in the Lower School to the Middle School’s study of contemporary art and operatic composition to media arts and advanced photography coursework in the Upper School, there’s no end to the possibilities. The visual, musical and dramatic arts inspire our girls to explore, discover and create something new, making a statement that is uniquely their own.
