Libraries & Academic Technology
Developing effective users of information
Our Department of Libraries and Instructional Technology maintains three divisional libraries for use by the entire Agnes Irwin community. The libraries, located in the Lower, Middle and Upper Schools, possess unique qualities that reflect the spirit and character of the division they serve. In addition to more than 25,000 print volumes, students have electronic access to full text newspapers, magazines and journals on dozens of databases, with access available from home.
Our mission is to develop students who are independent and effective users of information. These information management skills are integral to academic achievement, to responsible participation in a democratic society, and to lifelong learning. The libraries supply access to thoughtfully selected materials in a variety of formats, provide instruction in their use and promote appreciation of reading with the collaboration of other educators.
