Foundation of our work
In crafting the Center's mission and vision statements, we imagined the many different ways in which girls would benefit from the work of the Center for the Advancement of Girls. We developed a list of initiatives and projects that organically fell into four broad categories – which have become known as our four pillars:
Each of our four pillars speaks to empowering girls to lead their lives with audacity and grit, becoming active participants in a richly complex landscape both at home and abroad.
The pillars are also rooted in the Agnes Irwin experience, our beliefs and our history as one of the oldest institutions dedicated to a rigorous academic education for girls and young women in the United States.
