Kindergarten-Grade 4 Curriculum
Learning to stretch and achieve
The Lower School curriculum challenges girls to stretch their abilities, while providing them with the guidance and support to do so. Through social skills, we emphasize the importance of empathy for others, while also teaching students to find their own voice. Technology is integrated into every aspect of learning, with a focus on safe and responsible usage. Second and third graders learn how to manage their documents, and every fourth grader receives an AIS email address so they can learn how to correspond with others in the AIS community.
In Lower School, we also recognize the importance of play and exercise in brain development and academic achievement. The girls have PE class four days a week, and there are two play periods built into each day. Public speaking begins in a very real way starting with our Kindergarten Invention Convention.
