After-School Programs

Two Sessions, Loads of Fun

In Lower School, we provide two main options for after-school care for busy families – After Session and Extra Session. Both enrichment programs are optional and provide girls with a variety of engaging activities and one-on-one instruction once the school day has ended. After Session offers extended-day care during the school year, while the seasonal Extra Session is designed as a six- or seven-week special experience after school.

For more information, contact Jennifer Alario, Director of Auxiliary Programming (After Session, Extra Session and Summer at AIS) at 610-672-1273 or jalario@agnesirwin.org

After Session

After Session provides a safe, convenient after-school program for Agnes Irwin girls in PreK–Grade 4. Our After Session program is available to Lower School girls from 3 to 6 p.m. on any school day and parent conference days. After Session is taught by Margot Giuliano, an experienced teacher of over 20 years, and she leads the students in a variety of planned activities that include arts and crafts, cooking, computer time, and reading. Homework supervision/quiet time, free play and snack are offered daily. Financial assistance is available for students currently receiving financial aid
For questions or to register, contact Margot Giuliano, After Session Teacher, at 610-672-1274 or email mgiuliano@agnesirwin.org at least 24 hours in advance.

Extra Session

Extra Session is an optional after-school enrichment program for Agnes Irwin students in Grades PreK–4. Through constructive activities supervised by Agnes Irwin faculty and local instructors, students can learn new skills, exercise athletic abilities and discover their creativity. Classes are held Mondays through Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and carry registration fees. Supervision is provided between the end of the school day and the beginning of Extra Session. During the 2014-2015 school year, students engaged in classes like Hands On Equations, Yoga, and Fairy Fun with Lower School faculty as well as classes led by local instructors: Walnut Street Theatre (Acting, Musical Theatre), Curious Jane (DIY Accessories, DIY Gifts), and Little Scholars (Cooking Around the World, Whiz Kids, Wood Creations, Green Thumb Club, World Travelers). A coding class, developed and led by Upper School students, was offered to second and third graders.
