Crossing Cultures, Expanding Horizons
From Medieval nights to Japanese days, sixth-graders participate in a variety of multi-disciplinary projects throughout the year. During the study of the Medieval era, students create banners, swords and family crests, make costumes, and prepare a feast for the culminating Medieval Night festivities. In observance of Black History Month and as part of English class, students study the poetry of Langston Hughes and participate in the multi-school Dream Flag Project. Originated and run by Agnes Irwin sixth grade teachers, The Dream Flag Project connects Agnes Irwin students with thousands of students in dozens of schools through poetry and dreams.
