Sample Bequest Language
A bequest—a gift in your will—is a simple and convenient way to create a legacy.
Your bequest can be a specific dollar amount or a percentage of your estate.
Unrestricted bequests give The Agnes Irwin School the most flexibility, allowing the funds to be allocated wherever the need is greatest. It also takes into consideration possible changes in programs that may necessitate a use that cannot be anticipated at the time of the gift.
Restricted bequests allow you to designate your support to a special program or purpose that reflects your interests. Should you choose this option, we encourage you and/or your attorney to discuss your intentions with the Development Office at AIS to ensure that your wishes will be properly followed and recognized.
Finally, because a will is an important legal document, you should seek an attorney’s advice on executing one.
