Tuition Assistance at AIS

For the 2017-2018 school year, we offered more than $3,500,000 in tuition assistance awards to 26% of our student body. Tuition Assistance is available for PreKindergarten through grade 12, although 50% of the budget is awarded to Upper School students. You may request tuition assistance materials by contacting Claire Lewis at 610.526.1667 or by email at admission@agnesirwin.org.

Application and Timeline

Agnes Irwin uses an organization called School and Student Services (SSS) to help determine the financial need of a family. The Process

Step 1: Indicate intention

Indicate your intention to apply for tuition assistance on the admission application. Submit the application for admission by December 11, 2017. When prompted, indicate that you intend to apply for tuition assistance. The Office of Admission will send to you a First-Time Family Guide to Tuition Assistance, which will help you to gather necessary financial information for the online application.

Step 2: Complete online application

Complete the tuition assistance application online through School and Student Services (SSS) by logging onto http://sssbynais.org. New families may submit their tuition assistance application between November 1, 2017 and December 11, 2017. Returning families may submit their tuition assistance application between November 1, 2017 and December 11, 2017.

Step 3: Submit Paperwork

Send copies of the following directly to School and Student Services (SSS) by December 11, 2017 for new families and returning families.

 Additionally, if applicable, submit a copy of the Noncustodial Parent Waiver Petition directly to Randie Benedict, care of The Agnes Irwin School Admission Office.

Step 4: AIS review and notification

Agnes Irwin’s Tuition Assistance Committee reviews each request for tuition assistance and determines the tuition assistance grant based on the family’s need and the school’s budget. Tuition Assistance decisions are announced to new families with completed admission and Tuition Assistance applications in mid January. Tuition Assistance decisions are announced to current families with completed Tuition Assistance applications in February.

Step 5: Submit 2016 taxes

In order to confirm a tuition assistance award, all applicants must submit their 2017 federal income tax return and accompanying schedules by April 20, 2018.

Important Note about Deadline

All Tuition Assistance applications must be submitted by December 11, 2017 for new families and returning families in order to give you full consideration.
