Hanna Bottger ’10, an undergraduate student at the College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania, was presented with one of four Gold Awards ($1,500) at the 13th annual Tribeca Film Festival on April 25 from LabTV – a web-based video platform showcasing videos of young medical scientists across America.
Bottger’s video profile of medical researcher Charlie Mo, who works in the University of Pennsylvania’s Kohli Lab, captured LabTV’s attention and earned her a spot in their Gold Award category. LabTV awarded a total of $16,000 in cash prizes to students who submitted outstanding video profiles of scientists who work in labs funded by the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH).
In addition to her monetary award, Bottger received a certificate, signed by LabTV Chairman Jay Walker and Dr. Francis Collins, Director of the National Institutes of Health.
Established in 2002, the Tribeca Film Festival is a spring festival that takes place in Lower Manhattan. The mission of the festival is "to enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience."
