Media Arts
The Media Arts courses at AIS introduce the elements and principles of design and how they are applied to the world of digital design and communication. Through the hands-on use of digital technologies and access to a state-of-the-art Mac Lab, students develop unique and personal expressions in design and communication with an emphasis on creative problem-solving and independent thinking skills. Students learn the history of typography as well as the major movements in the field of graphics.
Photography
The Agnes Irwin School offers an all-encompassing Photography program with a stimulating rubric developed by the school’s expertly trained photography instructor, Katya Chillingiri. In this program, students are exposed to fundamental photographic techniques with opportunities to advance their skills in advanced and AP courses.
Studio Arts
The Studio Arts program is deep and varied at AIS. Every student, from Lower School through Upper School, enjoys the creative and fulfilling challenges that their art classes bring. As an Upper School student, one can elect to take Studio Art for one or all four years. Throughout the program, students thoroughly explore the elements of art and how those elements apply to both their classroom activities and their daily life.
