National Merit Program

Each year, the National Merit Scholarship Program offers college tuition assistance to high-performing seniors. More than 1.6 million students are eligible for the program each year, with only 50,000 of these students earning Commended status, and ⅓ of those students advancing to the Semifinalist round.

National African American Recognition Program

The College Board National African American Recognition Program celebrates the academic achievements of students from the African American and Black communities. Students are evaluated based on their PSAT/NMSQT test scores, and their academic record through their junior year is also considered.

National Hispanic Recognition Program

The College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program recognizes approximately 5,000 Hispanic/Latino juniors each year from among the more than 400,000 juniors who take the PSAT. As with the National Merit Scholarship Program, NHRP uses the junior year PSAT/NMSQT as the qualifying test.
