Raise a Glass to a Successful RaisE Soirée

Thank you to all our parents and guests who made last Friday’s “RaisE: The Southern Edition” a smashing success! The event — the largest Parents’ Council fundraiser of the year — was catered by 12th Street Catering and featured entertainment host Michael Green, a food, wine, and travel consultant to Departures magazine and former food and wine consultant for Gourmet.

This year’s live auction portion raised $58,000 and offered experiences such as a box at the Devon Horse Show; a luxury box at a Phillies game; signed Bryce Harper baseball; wine dinner in New York City with Michael Green; catered dinner by 12th Street Catering; and vacation packages to Montana, Texas, and South Carolina. Proceeds from the auction will be combined with fundraising from other Parents' Council events this past year to benefit programs, events, professional development, and more at AIS.

In addition, the “Paddle Raise” — which raises funds for a specific need of the school — surpassed the $40,000 goal to enhance the STEAM experience through providing tools, resources, professional development, and enhanced space in the areas of architecture, engineering, and textile/fiber design. These design-thinking “hot spots” will complement existing curriculum while offering new STEAM opportunities with broad applications across disciplines.

In total, this event raised more than $100,000 to support our girls and the student experience at The Agnes Irwin School.

Thank you to our event chairs, Mrs. Gracen Ashton P’29 and Mrs. Sharon Shaver P’20, for all their work!
