12 Seniors Receive National Recognition Awards


12 Agnes Irwin seniors were recently recognized for outstanding achievement. 

"We are proud of the accomplishments and achievements of these 12 seniors, who exemplify The Agnes Irwin School's hallmarks of excellent academics, leadership development, and engagement in their global community," remarks Head of School Sally Keidel. "We look forward to their future endeavors, and the impact that they will have here in Philadelphia and beyond."

National Merit Program

Each year, the National Merit Scholarship Program offers college tuition assistance to high-performing seniors. More than 1.6 million students are eligible for the program each year, with only 50,000 of these students earning Commended status, and ⅓ of those students advancing to the Semifinalist round.

National African American Recognition Program

The College Board National African American Recognition Program Scholars celebrates the academic achievements of students from the African American and Black communities. Students are evaluated based on their PSAT/NMSQT test scores, and their academic record through their junior year is also considered.

National Hispanic Recognition Program

The College Board National Hispanic Recognition Program celebrates the academic achievements of students from the Hispanic and Latinx communities. Students are evaluated based on their PSAT/NMSQT test scores, and their academic record through their junior year is also considered.

Recognized by the National Hispanic Recognition Program this year is Yamira Clarke.
