A Letter from the Director

In reflecting on my personal experiences as a student, I remember great angst as I started middle school — but those emotions were quickly transformed into enthusiasm, energy and the quest for excellence by my own amazing teachers. So, with a happy heart, I hope to do the same for middle school girls as an educator. The opportunity to serve in a leadership role at AIS, a school that empowers girls to learn, to lead, and to live a legacy, is both compelling and an honor.

There is an exuberance running through the Middle School that can be enjoyed at every turn. In classrooms, teachers mentor the girls with care and expertise; in and out of class, our girls joyfully help each other, and, at all times, the zigs and zags of adolescence are embraced.

At Agnes Irwin, we pride ourselves on recognizing the beauty of the middle school years. As our girls move from fifth to eighth grade, they discover their potential, begin to find their voice, and move with confidence in the direction of their dreams. In collaboration with the Center for Advancement for Girls, we seek ways to impact the girls so they, in turn, can start to think about the impact they will make in the world.

See it for yourself: stop by and visit us — we'd love to meet you!
