Explore Our Approach to All-Girls Education

Empowering Girls since 1869

Divider Wreath

Agnes Irwin is a premier choice for girls’ education in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburbs. Our robust, research-based curriculum builds a strong foundation in the humanities, STEAM, wellness, and the arts. With nationally recognized athletics and a wide range of activities, our students discover their passions and develop the skills they need to lead, succeed, and embrace their potential.

Why

ALL GIRLS?

We believe in the power of an all-girls education. 155 years ago, Agnes Irwin—great-great-granddaughter of Benjamin Franklin, first Dean of Radcliffe College, and a passionate advocate for educating girls and young women—founded our school. Today, her legacy continues to inspire us. It fuels our commitment to empowering girls to lead, to learn with curiosity and confidence, and to shape a world that needs their voices.

Getting to Agnes Irwin
