Middle School Arts

The Middle School Arts program expands learning through music, visual art, and theatre, integrating performance, technology, and collaboration. Students build skills and confidence while rotating through disciplines before focused study in Grade 8.

Music

Middle School students continue to use their voices as instruments while expanding their musical study to include handbells, drums, ukulele, piano, and recorders. Through these experiences, they deepen their understanding of rhythm, harmony, and collaboration.

Our Middle School choir, The Grace Notes, performs throughout the year at events such as the Winter and Spring Concerts, showcasing students’ growing confidence and musical skill.

Visual Arts

Middle School art students build on the foundational techniques introduced in Lower School, expanding their creativity through new tools and media. They explore photography and stop-motion animation, integrating technology into their artistic process.

Student artwork is featured in the Moran Gallery throughout the year and showcased in cross-curricular projects such as Medieval Day and the 5th Grade Musical, celebrating creativity across disciplines.

Theater

Middle School theatre students explore every aspect of theatrical production, from acting and performance to set and production design. Through hands-on experience, they learn how collaboration and creativity bring a story to life on stage.

The program helps students find their voice, build confidence, and gain performance experience through events such as the 5th Grade Musical, Maydieval Day, and the 8th Grade One-Act.
