Studio Art
Our girls master mediums as they create their own lines.
Studio Art at Agnes Irwin is deep and varied. Throughout the program, our students throughly explore the elements of art, and how those elements apply to their classroom activities and their daily life. Girls enjoy the creative expression and fulfilling challenges that their art classes bring as they progress through our robust program.
Lower School Studio Art
Our program layers the introduction of techniques, tools and art vocabulary through developmentally appropriate projects and exploration. As the students progress through the grades, so do the art styles and techniques.
Middle School Studio Art
A growing emphasis on observational drawing and increased involvement with a variety of tools and techniques are emphasized in Middle School. Exploration of color theory, two- and three-dimensional design, pattern, texture and craftsmanship are hallmarks of the program.
Upper School Studio Art
Sequential classes deepen the fundamentals of visual art, two- and three- dimensional design, and drawing. Students may further their skills in advanced course study to develop individual portfolios for college submissions.
