Theatre
Our girls are ready for their cue.
Theatre at Agnes Irwin empowers girls to explore all aspects of the art: acting technique, voice, script writing, directing, lighting and sound, stage crew, and set design. With an appreciation for the collaborative nature of theatre, and so many curricular and extracurricular theatrical programs to choose from, the stage — in all its wonder — is the perfect platform for our girls to break a leg!
Middle School Theatre
Students in grades five through seven have a full year of theater, and eighth graders participate in quarter-long classes in music and theater subjects. Theater classes work on theater skills including improvisation, character development, and theater history; with a specific focus on public speaking in seventh grade. Our students love to participate in our extracurricular Middle School Musical.
Upper School Theatre
The Upper School program reflects a two-strand emphasis on developing the technical and dramatic expertise of each student. Both are highlighted in the first two courses, followed by the opportunity for focused concentration in the third and capstone courses. There are plenty of extracurricular opportunities in theater, including our fall musical, the Upper School play, various cabarets and clubs.

More than 53 upper schoolers, along with four Haverford School students, brought this Broadway classic to life!
Middle School Musical | The Little Mermaid, Jr.
From comical crab Sebastian to undersea antagonist Ursula, the cast of The Little Mermaid, Jr. took us under the sea for an evening of music and laughter.
