Courtney joined Agnes Irwin as Athletic Director in 2017. In her five years here, Agnes Irwin teams have reached new heights and achievements including winning the 2018 Inter-Ac Championship, 2021 Inter-Ac Tournament Championship and 2018 PAISAA lacrosse championships, second place PAISAA finishes for volleyball in 2021 and 2018 and lacrosse in 2019, and golf in 2018. In 2018 and 2019, varsity squash won the Inter-Ac Championship, was ranked No. 2 nationally of all scholastic teams, and has maintained fourth or better nationally for the past four seasons. In 2022, the Agnes Irwin Middle School squash team claimed championship national titles in Division I and II for the first time in Agnes Irwin squash program history. Varsity crew had its winningest season in 22 years in 2022, earning the Philadelphia Scholastic Rowing Association Kate Godwin trophy for excellence in sculling, three Stotesbury Stotesbury Regatta Championships, two Scholastic Rowing Association of America championships, and competed in the prestigious Henley Regatta in the U.K. During Courtney’s tenure, 63 student-athletes have been recruited to play their sport in college. 

Prior to AIS, Courtney served as Head of Athletics and Wellness at Convent of the Sacred Heart, New York City’s oldest independent school for girls, where she managed the school’s physical education and wellness programs, as well as led their athletics program of 34 teams and over 40 coaches. 

Courtney is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania (B.A. ’10) where she played attack for the four-time undefeated Ivy League Champion lacrosse team. Courtney also holds a Master’s of Science in Sports Management from Columbia University (M.S. ’13) where she was an Assistant Lacrosse Coach. In 2010, Courtney was named to the Tewaaraton Foundation Watch List which recognizes top college lacrosse players in the United States.
