Athletics is more than competition. It's about building resilience, instilling confidence, committing to yourself and to your team, and pushing limits to discover your personal best. Agnes Irwin's rich athletic history and dedication to our pre-collegiate student-athletes is a great source of pride for the Owls — you can feel (and hear) that spirit on our sidelines as we cheer them on.
When girls participate in athletics at Agnes Irwin, they build the character and resilience that set them up to win — at anything they set their minds to. Explore the 14 varsity sports that produce strong athletes that go on to compete at NCAA Division I, II, and III levels.
At Agnes Irwin, we take care of our bodies and set the stage for leading healthy lives. Our wellness and PE programs ensure each girl's physical health, talents, interests, self-confidence, and relationship skills are developed.

From the moment I stepped on campus, the energy and enthusiasm of the students, faculty, staff, and coaches was evident. Agnes Irwin's commitment to providing programs of excellence in athletics, physical education, and wellness is inspiring. Courtney Lubbe, Athletic Director
A former lacrosse player for four-time Ivy League champion University of Pennsylvania, Courtney knows what it takes to be a successful student-athlete and shares her experience with Agnes Irwin girls. As Athletic Director, Courtney oversees our PE, Wellness, and Athletics programs - and can be seen supporting athletes on the sidelines and leading our school pep rallies.
As a former field hockey, basketball, and softball player for the Owls, Cindy continues her dedication to Agnes Irwin as our Assistant Athletic Director, as well as JV Tennis and Varsity Softball coach. As we like to say, once an Owl, always an Owl!
A seasoned lacrosse coach at the collegiate level and former student-athlete for Duke University, Lauren is our Varsity Lacrosse Coach and led the team to the 2018 PAISSA Championship — all while supporting the Owl's Athletic Department.
An important member of Agnes Irwin's Athleltic Department, Gus the Owl can be seen flapping his wings, giving high-fives, and hooting for our athletic teams at key sports competitions. Our resident Owl makes special appearances throughout the year, and occasionally migrates to our competition's sporting events to ruffle their feathers!
