Physical education at this level places emphasis on preparing girls for team sports, enjoying physical activity, incorporating physical activity into their own lives, building confidence,  playing fair and showing good sportsmanship. The basic units throughout the year are field hockey, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, volleyball, basketball, eclipse ball, lacrosse, softball, tennis, and the Presidents Challenge Fitness Test.  In addition we do cooperative games on a bi-weekly basis. Team teaching allows for individualized instruction on skills and mechanics for each sport being taught.  Often a lesson is presented to the entire class and then the girls break into groups for drills and further instruction.  The teachers follow standards and benchmarks that are age appropriate, and also recognize and respect individual differences in students.
