U.S. Department of State, Political-Military Affairs Chief, Mimi Wang

Mimi Wang ’05 serves as Political-Military Affairs Chief at the U.S. Embassy in Paris. After studying history and international studies at Yale, she joined the U.S. Department of State, with early postings in the Philippines and Afghanistan. She later worked in Washington, D.C., and now supports diplomatic efforts such as the U.S. rejoining UNESCO. “My days are rarely the same, which is great for me because I’m a multi-tasker,” she says. Mimi credits The Agnes Irwin School with instilling in her confidence, perspective, and a love of learning—qualities she draws on daily in international diplomacy.
