Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging at The Agnes Irwin School

Honoring and celebrating the individuality of our students, families, and faculty fosters an inclusive, diverse, and equitable community.

Diversity of experience, thought, and ideas are not only pillars of our school, but are an integral part of the learning process and the Agnes Irwin experience. Aspects of individuality are explored through inspiring speakers, our rigorous and engaging curriculum, professional development opportunities for faculty and staff, and student organizations. These explorations provide each of us with the opportunity to build awareness and reflect on our lived experiences in order to foster  a sense of authentic inclusivity and belonging. Every day, we nurture the necessary skills and provide experiences for students to thrive in a diverse and inclusive community.

DEIB Philosophy

The Agnes Irwin School is committed to equity, inclusion, and belonging. We invite you to read our latest DEIB Philosophy Statement. This statement speaks to what our school values as a community, it is grounded in our mission and values, and addresses why diversity is important and how it is an essential condition of our institution's excellence. It reflects input and contributions from students, parents, faculty, alumnae, administrators, faculty/staff, and the Board of Trustees.
